Child Accident
The claimant, who was aged 12 at the time of the accident, was knocked over by a car when he was crossing the road. He suffered a number of injuries including a skull fracture. The head injury in particular caused him problems with concentration and memory, fatigue and emotional disturbance. The medical evidence indicated a risk of epilepsy at some point in the future as a result of the accident. His award of £12,000 was therefore made on a provisional basis, leaving it open for him to apply back to the court should he develop epilepsy.
