DF v St George's Healthcare NHS Trust High Court 24/6/2005

An obstetric senior registrar performed an instrumental delivery during the birth of a child in circumstances and at a time when expert evidence showed that it was not acceptable medical practice to do so. The NHS Trust was held liable in negligence for the injuries which the child sustained during the birth.
