What is Silicosis

What is silicosis?  It is a respiratory disease caused by inhalation of silica dust which leads to scarring of the lung tissue. It is linked to industrial workers working in the construction, mining, ceramic and brick making industries in the 1960s and 1970s. They were not provided with adequate protection against the inhalation of sand dust.
