Deafness

 An employer failed to take precautions to provide ear protection to an employee regularly exposed to 85 decibels of noise between 1974 and 1999. The Court of Appeal held that the employer had been in breach of the Noise at Work Regulations 1989. The employee was awarded £10,000 in damages.
